Digital India Act

The proposed Digital India Act 2023 is a draft legislation that aims to replace the current Information Technology Act of 2000 in India. It was first introduced in June 2022 and is expected to undergo public consultation soon. The main objective of the Digital India Act is to establish a comprehensive legal framework for India's digital economy, which will cover various issues such as cybercrime, online safety, data protection, and intermediary regulation.
